Choosing where to retire is about a lot more than just local weather and tax rates. In this episode, I walk through seven criteria that actually matter when deciding where you want to spend your later years, drawing on research from MIT’s Age Lab and real conversations I’ve had with retirees. Lots of considerations here: mobility, access to technology, environment, climate, health care, affordability, and the importance of having real places to connect with people, to name a few.
Retirement decisions tend to feel permanent, which makes it easy to default to what worked for someone else instead of what truly fits your life. This episode is about slowing that process down and asking better questions before you commit. If you want to choose a place to retire that supports your health, finances, and quality of life over the long run, I believe this conversation will help you think it through with more clarity and confidence!
